Early Years Curriculum

The Early Years programme is a holistic, child-centred and exploratory curriculum that focuses on developing children’s communication and language skills, creative expressions, physical abilities and well-being, and personal and social development. In the Early Years, our curriculum centres on learning experiences which provide emergent, play situations where children make sense of things and people around them, investigate the world, form relationships and interactions. 

Early years learning ensures a smooth transition to the more structured and skills-driven learning expectations of the Preschool Programme.

Nursery One (for 30 months to 3 years)

The Nursery 1 curriculum continues to reinforce the development of expressive language, communication and vocabulary skills. Large and fine muscles development is more actively promoted alongside personal, emotional and social development. Carefully structured as well as emergent experiences occurring through daily interactions, play situations, routines and transitions continue to support children’s language and cognitive growth. The environment promotes learning through active exploration, sensory and tactile stimulations. Children in Nursery 1 begin to acquire increased awareness of numbers, explore sounds and letters of the alphabet and develop interest in books and reading.
